Meet-the-Professor

Attendees of IX Vasoactive Peptides Symposium have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of topics in vasoactive peptides in a small group setting. Topic moderators are experts in their particular specialty area.

Places are limited and available on a first come first served basis.

Scientific Topics

Vasoactive peptides play a remarkable role in cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology.

AngiotensinII, bradykinin and ANP are among the most studied vasoactive peptides, which have actions that go far beyond their vascular effects.

This symposium will cover many aspects related to vasoactive peptides with special emphasis on the novel renin-angiotensin axis, ACE2/Ang-(1-7)/Mas.

The first manuscripts describing the formation and the biological effects of angiotensin-(1-7) were published 25 years ago.

Therefore one of the objectives of the IX International Symposium on Vasoactive Peptides will be to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this discovery.

Abstract

Clinical Science is pleased to sponsor two Young Investigator Awards for the two best poster presentations at the meeting. The awards will be presented during the meeting by Professor Rhian Touyz, the Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Science.

CALL FOR PAPERS:

Vasoactive Peptides in Health and Disease

To coincide with the meeting, Clinical Science (2011 impact factor 4.317) invites the submission of research articles relating to all aspects of the action of vasoactive peptides. Both clinical and laboratory-based studies are encouraged, particularly those addressing the cellular and molecular mechanisms of the vasoactive peptides.

Submissions should be made via the Journal's online submission site (http://www.clinsci.org/submit) by the deadline of30 JUNE 2013, indicating that the submission is for the call for papers. All submissions will undergo the Journal's normal peer review process, and accepted articles will be published online immediately and will also be highlighted in a special online issue.
